Valhalla's supporters rose to their feet, but Hegoi Carriles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Berenguer Salero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute, Romulo Cotero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Valhalla's zone, Apolo Somiedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ekaitz Freijo came out of the goal and Apolo Somiedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 30 minutes into the match, Valhalla's goalkeeper Ekaitz Freijo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oxarra Cura. With a little luck, Valhalla's Ekaitz Freijo got control of the ball when Oxarra Cura tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valhalla's goalkeeper Ekaitz Freijo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Oxarra Cura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ekaitz Freijo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Paysandu's Apolo Somiedo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Apolo Somiedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ekaitz Freijo having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Apolo Somiedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paysandu's attack was well implemented in the 53rd minute, but when Apolo Somiedo was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Valhalla were furious when Oskitz Larrave was red carded, 70 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 69th minute of the game. One of Valhalla:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Paysandu:s goal. If Oxarra Cura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolo Somiedo in the 78th minute of play forced Valhalla's goalkeeper Ekaitz Freijo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Oxarra Cura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ekaitz Freijo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paysandu's Berenguer Salero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Paysandu from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oxarra Cura in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ekaitz Freijo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Paysandu's Oxarra Cura in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Valhalla's goalie prevented a goal. The referee gave Paysandu a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Zigor Irastorza, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Valhalla's Ekaitz Freijo. 4-0. If Apolo Somiedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 98 minutes into the match, Efren Castrillon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Berenguer Salero. Paysandu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Efren Castrillon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Paysandu fully deserved thier win.
