The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Lano Gualda sped through Coronilla's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lartaun Postigo. Froylan Courel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Maore Jares made a huge save. In the 17th minute Donio Echague shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lartaun Postigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 minutes, Urki Castella mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NACIONAL and the Coronilla players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, NACIONAL's Urki Castella got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Donio Echague got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maore Jares made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Froylan Courel sent off a good shot on target. Donio Echague fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lartaun Postigo having to interfere. Lartaun Postigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lano Gualda in the 33rd minute of the match. Quintyn Alcaraz struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Lartaun Postigo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NACIONAL. In the 40th minute Donio Echague shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lartaun Postigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernanco Piñeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lartaun Postigo having to interfere. Lartaun Postigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donio Echague's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donio Echague to strike the kick off in the second half. Donio Echague received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Lartaun Postigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lartaun Postigo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donio Echague in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Xesus Vicioso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Coronilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NACIONAL the free kick. In the 64th match minute, Coronilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leocadio Escoto to maneuver through the defense. Bembe Mascire blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lartaun Postigo having to make a save. After having played for 79 minutes, Donio Echague managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NACIONAL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donio Echague was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute Bembe Mascire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lartaun Postigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lano Gualda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lartaun Postigo having to interfere. A collision led to NACIONAL getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Lano Gualda hit a great ball. If Donio Echague had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle sounded NACIONAL left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Coronilla.
