Marcos Arroyo's late challenge caught a Peñarol Inteligencia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcos Arroyo helped the player get up and apologised. After 2 played minutes Rosas got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Arroyo. Romulo Lerma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burutzagi Canto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Arona kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Bahiano Guiza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naelio Oñatibia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Demario Ayon in the 9thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bahiano Guiza, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Naelio Oñatibia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Burutzagi Canto came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Peñarol Inteligencia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Burutzagi Canto couldn't finish the play. Peñarol Inteligencia FC's Bahiano Guiza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naelio Oñatibia in the 15th minute of play. Naelio Oñatibia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bahiano Guiza having to make a save. Bahiano Guiza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Naelio Oñatibia, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Demario Ayon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rosas's supporters rose to their feet, but Demario Ayon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bahiano Guiza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Naelio Oñatibia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Oliveros hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute Naelio Oñatibia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bahiano Guiza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Peñarol Inteligencia FC defense, Naelio Oñatibia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bahiano Guiza. The Peñarol Inteligencia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bahiano Guiza should have stopped the shot. In the 49th minute, Burutzagi Canto made a precise shot to the right of Romulo Lerma. Rosas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nesor Herquinigo made a kick off. Bahiano Guiza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Demario Ayon in the 58th minute of the match. The supporters of Peñarol Inteligencia FC booed when Rosas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Arona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peñarol Inteligencia FC's Burutzagi Canto got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Demario Ayon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rosas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Demario Ayon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Naelio Oñatibia in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bahiano Guiza saved Peñarol Inteligencia FC from getting behind. Romulo Lerma made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Burutzagi Canto sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Rosas's zone, Burutzagi Canto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romulo Lerma came out of the goal and Burutzagi Canto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roman Rosinos charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roman Rosinos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Romulo Lerma made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Burutzagi Canto sent off a good shot on target. If Naelio Oñatibia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norberto Minguez hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Norberto Minguez kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peñarol Inteligencia FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cornelio Encina was slow to take the kick. During this time Rosas's players had a chance to rest. Bahiano Guiza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Naelio Oñatibia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rosas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
