Quintin Jalon started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute, Bolivar's Gonsalvo Axeitos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gonsalvo Axeitos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Bolivar protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gonsalvo Axeitos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bolivar fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! After 13 played minutes Donatello Calles rounded Bolivar's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Bahiano Brieba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Venerando Tavera in the 22nd minute. Jerardo España received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Oskarbi Trillanes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Canitas's Mazuste Garrido got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute Jerardo España shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oskarbi Trillanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oskarbi Trillanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerardo España, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. If Jerardo España had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, Palben Puerto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jerardo España came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Bolivar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerardo España couldn't finish the play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donatello Calles to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donatello Calles in the 55th minute of play forced Bolivar's goalkeeper Bahiano Brieba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerardo Españas short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Oskarbi Trillanes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jerardo España who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Oskarbi Trillanes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jerardo España recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Gillermo Paez fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolivar's protests and gave Gillermo Paez a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bolivar getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Gillermo Paez hit a great ball. In the 66th minute of the match Xines Larabiedra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bahiano Brieba showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerardo España got free with Oskarbi Trillanes in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th minute, Donatello Calles made a precise shot to the right of Bahiano Brieba. Bolivar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After 78 played minutes Bolivar got a freekick which was hit by Jerardo España. Bolivar's Bahiano Brieba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venerando Tavera in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute of the match Xines Larabiedra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bahiano Brieba skillfully saved the ball. Jerardo España fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oskarbi Trillanes having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Jerardo España took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Oskarbi Trillanes to make any attempt to save it. The Canitas support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
