The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 minutes, Lleir Notes made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Adrio Loaces stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lleir Notes's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Lleir Notes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Adrio Loaces tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, PEÑAROL's Lleir Notes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adrio Loaces made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After some careless play in the Loano FC defense, Eufrasio Icedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adrio Loaces. The Loano FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adrio Loaces should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute, Gentza Llantada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciriaco Elzuardi charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciriaco Elzuardi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Loano FC booed when PEÑAROL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciriaco Elzuardi didn't get a good kick on the ball.

If Lleir Notes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 56th match minute, PEÑAROL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lleir Notes to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the game, Loano FC's Gentza Llantada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Batista Vilar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Mark Barruso hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Adrio Loaces was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lleir Notes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 63 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gentza Llantada in the 80th minute of play forced PEÑAROL's goalkeeper Batista Vilar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Batista Vilar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zornin Onez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orland Castilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrio Loaces having to interfere. In the 89th minute of the match Matteo Guerrero sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Batista Vilar skillfully saved the ball. 91 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL's goal looked a bit too open when Gentza Llantada came free, but Batista Vilar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Batista Vilar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baiona Forcat in the 92nd minute of the match. The Loano FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching PEÑAROL's performance. The match ended with a win for PEÑAROL.
