The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Rodo got a freekick which was hit by Sandalio Carpio. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rodo's goalkeeper Txaran Alba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Curticeras's Liberto Bachicabo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlo Aceves in the 29th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caradaro Aguinagalde got free with Txaran Alba in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ugutz Ozaeta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Txaran Alba having to interfere. Caradaro Aguinagalde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Txaran Alba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Fresco Banda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rodo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fresco Banda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlo Aceves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liberto Bachicabo having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ugutz Ozaeta to make the kick off. Txaran Alba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caradaro Aguinagalde, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Rodo's zone, Ugutz Ozaeta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Txaran Alba came out of the goal and Ugutz Ozaeta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ugutz Ozaeta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlo Aceves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Carlo Aceves got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 70 played minutes Rodo got a freekick which was hit by Eufrasio Casadevante. Caradaro Aguinagalde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Txaran Alba having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Carlo Aceves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Rodo booed when Curticeras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burutzagi Limpias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlo Aceves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liberto Bachicabo having to interfere.
