Iratze Saladrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ponciano Algara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quebracho AFC were furious when Micael Palomares was red carded, 33 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 32 minutes into the game, one of Quebracho AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Iratze Saladrigues had in the 35thth minute some difficulties stopping Pinto Ugalde's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. John Verdesoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ponciano Algara in the 39th minute of play forced Quebracho AFC's goalkeeper Iratze Saladrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Quebracho AFC's zone, Ponciano Algara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iratze Saladrigues came out of the goal and Ponciano Algara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pinto Ugalde, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience was convinced that John Verdesoto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iratze Saladrigues was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Ponciano Algara sped through Quebracho AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Iratze Saladrigues. For all the effort they put into the match, the Quebracho AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Aldecoa.
