Manga FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bento Villamarin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bento Villamarin in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celio Viz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Benigno Cismado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celio Viz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benigno Cismado's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Alexandro Olave received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Narciso Goztros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celio Viz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bento Villamarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th match minute, Manga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nabar Coello to maneuver through the defense. Alexandro Olave received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Narciso Goztros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manga FC's Bento Villamarin got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexandro Olave stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Club Atlético Peñarol booed when Manga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harkaitz Ladrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Atlético Peñarol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manga FC the free kick.
