Kimetz Bada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the game, Donato Cabanela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tornado Athletic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vergara the free kick. After a rather tough play, Tornado Athletic's Donato Cabanela got a free kick in the 17th minute. Vasco Villabedon's late challenge caught a Tornado Athletic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Lluis Sotuela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hernandez Delatorre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Hernandez Delatorre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tornado Athletic's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernandez Delatorre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lluis Sotuela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Vergara's Esdras Izmendi got a free kick in the 59th minute. After 60 minutes of play Tornado Athletic's Donato Cabanela was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Vergara booed when Tornado Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Cabanela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute Hernandez Delatorre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lluis Sotuela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hernandez Delatorre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lluis Sotuela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernandez Delatorre in the 85th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Losado in the 88th minute of play forced Vergara's goalkeeper Lluis Sotuela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chants of Vergara echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Tornado Athletic had held the ball for most of the match.
