Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Merinos's goalkeeper Oalo Barranco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Guillem Borges scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvanito Muriedas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Merinos's goal looked a bit too open when Checa Allonca came free, but Oalo Barranco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Checa Allonca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Oalo Barranco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Checa Allonca in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oalo Barranco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Checa Allonca struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Oalo Barranco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PEÑAROL. A collision led to Merinos getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ciceron Andueco hit a great ball. After some careless play in the PEÑAROL defense, Bonifacio Danzo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvanito Muriedas. The PEÑAROL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvanito Muriedas should have stopped the shot. The PEÑAROL players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Merinos were winning 0-2.

Alvaro Raedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Silvanito Muriedas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Checa Allonca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oalo Barranco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Alvaro Raedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Guillem Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Guillem Borges could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Silvanito Muriedas made a huge save. Merinos's Alvaro Raedo got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Merinos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Merinos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
