The audience thought a goal was coming when Sustrai Velunza got free with Richie Salceda in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 10 minutes into the match, Maldonado FC's goalkeeper Richie Salceda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramiro Caloca. Enrique Fragua hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The Maldonado FC fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Maldonado FC's Egun Palos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Enrique Fragua scored 2-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Richie Salceda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The shot was a little too simple and Richie Salceda could save by the left post. Richie Salceda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrique Fragua, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the game, one of Vazquez FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Maldonado FC a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tercero Juarbe, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vazquez FC's Ruy Soba. 2-2. In the 38th minute, Egun Palos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Bonifacio Taracena notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Vazquez FC's Ruy Soba. Ruy Soba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maldonado FC's Egun Palos got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute Enrique Fragua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richie Salceda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ximen Hortuño in the 49th minute of play forced Maldonado FC's goalkeeper Richie Salceda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Vazquez FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Maldonado FC were winning 2-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egun Palos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes in the game, Egun Palos fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ruy Soba having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vazquez FC's Gentza Arcas got a free kick in the 59th minute. Richie Salceda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Caloca, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Vachon Rusoto struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Ruy Soba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maldonado FC. Bonifacio Taracena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruy Soba having to interfere. Bonifacio Taracena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 72 minutes, Bonifacio Taracena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maldonado FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bonifacio Taracena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bonifacio Taracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richie Salceda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Fragua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 87 minutes into the game, Vazquez FC's Enrique Fragua nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Richie Salceda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. If Bonifacio Taracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute.
