But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chiquinho Zonta couldn't finish the play. Xuoco Abellaneda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gai Busvidad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Distiratsu Bado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Gonzo Beyso took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Distiratsu Bado. Distiratsu Bado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Club Oriental de La Paz were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gonzo Beyso was the one to do the kick off. Distiratsu Bado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Club Oriental de La Paz's goal looked a bit too open when Eutropio Polanco came free, but Xelo Afonso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Fenix getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Berenguer Charlo hit a great ball. Fenix's Distiratsu Bado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chiquinho Zonta in the 77th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Fenix's Reynardo Encalada got a free kick in the 81st minute. Gai Busvidad blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Distiratsu Bado having to make a save. Berenguer Charlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Distiratsu Bado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzo Beyso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Chiquinho Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Club Oriental de La Paz booed when Fenix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otsoko Miranes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 100th minute, Fenix's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gonzo Beyso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Club Oriental de La Paz's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
