Carmelo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Cosme Fortes scored to the left of an out of position Tanio Vicente, making the score, 1-0. Tanio Vicente made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leon Fanego in the 26th minute. Cosme Fortes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tanio Vicente came out and tried to block the shot, but Cosme Fortes slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 27th minute. Leon Fanego kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute. Though ot was a great shot Carmelo's keeper Tanio Vicente was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Carmelo's Tanio Vicente proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Carmelo from getting a goal against them. 41 minutes into the match, Red Bull Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Arruta came free, but Modestio Pumar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sergio Arruta made a kick off. Leon Fanego fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tanio Vicente having to interfere. Dino Fresno charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dino Fresno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dino Fresno hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. If Saturnino Jurado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cosme Fortes struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Tanio Vicente didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red Bull Montevideo. If Leon Fanego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Carmelo's Lalo Baltuile got a free kick in the 91st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Cosme Fortes managed to get in a good position for a shot.
