After a rather tough play, Tacuarembo's Zosimo Hernaez got a free kick in the 34th minute. Sergio Arruta had several of the Tacuarembo's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 42 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Andrew Peart as he didn't even see the shot coming. Lizar Diego ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Salomone Rado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tanio Vicente. That made the score 2-1 in the 71 minute of play. A hard shot 84 in the game by Lizar Diego from a close distance when the talented Tanio Vicente managed to make a qualified save. Carmelo's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Salomone Rado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tacuarembo's supporters rose to their feet, but Salomone Rado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tanio Vicente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andrew Peart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Fresno in the 92nd minute of the match. Tacuarembo's Zosimo Hernaez got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Zosimo Hernaez off the ground. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Carmelo had won after a very even match.
