Spectators: 6704 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Niva Bustillo in the 2nd minute of play forced Tacuarembo's goalkeeper Andrew Peart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emesto Gegundez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salomone Rado in the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Zosimo Hernaez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Niva Bustillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varese fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 14 played minutes Tacuarembo got a freekick which was hit by Victor Cenzano. Salomone Rado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute, Niva Bustillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varese fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Varese's Emesto Gegundez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Varese from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Salomone Rado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emesto Gegundez. That made the score 1-2 in the 26 minute of play. In the 40th minute Marciano Sanjuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrew Peart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Zosimo Hernaez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 47 minutes had been played. Zosimo Hernaez kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niva Bustillo to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Kauldi Mardones mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tacuarembo and the Varese players grew even worse after the yellow card. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Andrew Peart, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niva Bustillo in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrew Peart prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Tacuarembo's Salomone Rado got a free kick in the 69th minute. Varese's Derwin Prada shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 70th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Andrew Peart but with some difficulty. Andrew Peart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niva Bustillo in the 71st minute of play. Marciano Sanjuan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrew Peart having to interfere. Tab Bolaño kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Niva Bustillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Andrew Peart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 87 minutes, Marciano Sanjuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varese's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marciano Sanjuan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrew Peart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niva Bustillo in the 92nd minute of the match. Varese's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
