A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Piriapolis's zone, Cuartio Velayo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ilixo Oton came out of the goal and Cuartio Velayo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Epifanio Calles fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tala's protests and gave Epifanio Calles a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Piriapolis booed when Tala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Epifanio Calles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eudoxio Barrutia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Txema Alcedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cuartio Velayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the game, Eudoxio Barrutia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Txema Alcedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute, Tala's Cuartio Velayo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ilixo Oton. Ilixo Oton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 35 minutes into the game, Cuartio Velayo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tala's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piriapolis the free kick. In the 35th match minute, Tala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cuartio Velayo to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Tala's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Serrana came free, but Txema Alcedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cuartio Velayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tala's Txema Alcedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eudoxio Barrutia in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eudoxio Barrutia made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Tala's Adan Vizcarra got a free kick in the 51st minute. With a little luck, Tala's Txema Alcedo got control of the ball when Eliseo Serrana tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseo Serrana got free with Txema Alcedo in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute, Cuartio Velayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eudoxio Barrutia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Txema Alcedo came out and tried to block the shot, but Eudoxio Barrutia slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 65th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Tala's goal looked a bit too open when Eudoxio Barrutia came free, but Txema Alcedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Eudoxio Barrutia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute Eudoxio Barrutia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Txema Alcedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Txema Alcedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Serrana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot by Esdras Mondragon from long distance, 86 minutes into the match, got Txema Alcedo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The supporters of Piriapolis booed when Tala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermelando Caballeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Piriapolis's goal looked a bit too open when Guillem Salvatierra came free, but Ilixo Oton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Presebal Vuelta's late challenge caught a Tala's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Presebal Vuelta helped the player get up and apologised. Presebal Vuelta hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Piriapolis had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
