Cesaro Somalo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mattias Gerhof came out and tried to block the shot, but Cesaro Somalo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. Mingo Luaces struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Hug Rusoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Punta Carretas. C. A. Punta Carretas were furious when Sugar Tejeyra was red carded, 17 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in C. A. Punta Carretas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! Mattias Gerhof had in the 19thth minute some difficulties stopping Lizardi Carda's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gomez Seguin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hug Rusoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gomez Seguin in the 28th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, C. A. Punta Carretas's goal looked a bit too open when Jorrin Tezanos came free, but Mattias Gerhof reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Jorrin Tezanos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Mattias Gerhof was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jean Gould took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hug Rusoto. Hug Rusoto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Jean Gould sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gomez Seguin struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Hug Rusoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Punta Carretas. In the 43rd minute, Jean Gould got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 43 minutes, Gomez Seguin made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Club Atletico Peñarol's Hug Rusoto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cesaro Somalo to make the kick off. Hug Rusoto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gomez Seguin in the 54th minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Jean Gould managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Punta Carretas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean Gould was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vitorino Bello hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Dorin Cinteză fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hug Rusoto having to interfere. Hug Rusoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gomez Seguin, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After 63 played minutes C. A. Punta Carretas got a freekick which was hit by 邵鹏崇. 66 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Peñarol's goalkeeper Hug Rusoto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gomez Seguin. In the 75th minute Gutxi Lecea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Gerhof saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hug Rusoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Berto Cando could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Hug Rusoto made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean Gould in the 91st minute of play forced Club Atletico Peñarol's goalkeeper Hug Rusoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Jean Gould got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gomez Seguin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
