In the 24th minute of the match, Elixio Antiñano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Raymon Sigler was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Canelones's zone, Marin Villaquilambre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Larra Zubizarrieta came out of the goal and Marin Villaquilambre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marin Villaquilambre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Larra Zubizarrieta having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Yaguari FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
