Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Adriana Chapital kicked off to start the match. With a little luck, Mercedes FC's Xiao Bas got control of the ball when Ceferino Hornilla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valentines's Sancho Lomelin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriana Chapital in the 7th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Martxelin Escajedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mercedes FC and the Valentines players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, Martxelin Escajedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute of the match, Ceferino Hornilla got a very nice opportunity to score, but Xiao Bas was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Navarro Antiñano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Xiao Bas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute Navarro Antiñano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xiao Bas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ceferino Hornilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xiao Bas having to interfere. If Zoilo Lanis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eguzki Castreciones fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valentines's protests and gave Eguzki Castreciones a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes Valentines got a freekick which was hit by Eguzki Castreciones. After having played for 38 minutes, Navarro Antiñano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valentines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Navarro Antiñano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ceferino Hornilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Navarro Antiñano fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Xiao Bas, passed just outside the right post. If Zoilo Lanis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Navarro Antiñano was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Mercedes FC's Zoilo Lanis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sancho Lomelin. That made the score 0-1 after 54 minutes of play. Ceferino Hornilla took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xiao Bas. Xiao Bas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Sancho Lomelin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriana Chapital, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Adriana Chapital fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sancho Lomelin having to interfere. Ceferino Hornilla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xiao Bas having to make a save. Mercedes FC's Xiao Bas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pellas Ruisuarez in the 73rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Navarro Antiñano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valentines's supporters rose to their feet, but Navarro Antiñano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xiao Bas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Valentines's Navarro Antiñano got a free kick in the 81st minute. Sancho Lomelin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriana Chapital in the 83rd minute of play. Xiao Bas came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Valentines's Ceferino Hornilla. But to his dismay, Ceferino Hornilla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The audience was convinced that Ceferino Hornilla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xiao Bas was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. 97 minutes into the match, Valentines's goal looked a bit too open when Adriana Chapital came free, but Sancho Lomelin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that Valentines were the better team. Valentines's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
