Pinera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Neron Basante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eneas Aza in the 11th minute of play forced Piedras FC's goalkeeper Bartuelo Barrientos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute, Eneas Aza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pinera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Claus Lupidana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. In the 19th match minute, Pinera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urtzi Reizabal to maneuver through the defense. Piedras FC's Bartuelo Barrientos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neron Basante in the 36th minute of play. Eneas Aza took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bartuelo Barrientos. Bartuelo Barrientos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 45 minutes, Espiridion Yaner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piedras FC and the Pinera players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th minute, Espiridion Yaner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

52 minutes into the match, Pinera's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Hurtaran came free, but Lope Najar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Piedras FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Chaime Ozaeta hit a great ball. Pinera's Eneas Aza got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lope Najar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florencio Zucunza in the 60th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adolfo Hurtaran during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bartuelo Barrientos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neron Basante, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 72nd minute, Claus Lupidana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Piedras FC's Oriche Tejeria got a free kick in the 76th minute. After some careless play in the Piedras FC defense, Claus Lupidana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bartuelo Barrientos. The Piedras FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bartuelo Barrientos should have stopped the shot. Lope Najar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chaime Ozaeta in the 95th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Pinera left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Piedras FC.
