Montel Azpe kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Mataojo's goal looked a bit too open when Milio Jerena came free, but Miguel Marcos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Milio Jerena notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mataojo's Miguel Marcos. Miguel Marcos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Xzaiver Boladeras fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mataojo's protests and gave Xzaiver Boladeras a yellow card for diving instead. Carpe Noctem 's Dunixi Pinos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Carpe Noctem from getting a goal against them. Dunixi Pinos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Palos Horna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xzaiver Boladeras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Dunixi Pinos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Palos Horna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dunixi Pinos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Azubeli Gijon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ixona Matas kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Donostia Villarmerin, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 37th minute Palos Horna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dunixi Pinos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Xzaiver Boladeras came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Mataojo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xzaiver Boladeras couldn't finish the play. Carpe Noctem 's Milio Jerena got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Milio Jerena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Palos Horna was the one to do the kick off. Carpe Noctem 's Maties Leicea got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Carpe Noctem getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Montel Azpe hit a great ball. Palos Horna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Palos Horna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dunixi Pinos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Palos Horna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dunixi Pinos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 82nd minute, Palos Horna left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mataojo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The attack was good, but when Palos Horna in the 92nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that Xzaiver Boladeras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dunixi Pinos was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Maties Leicea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Marcos having to interfere. Mataojo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
