The referee felt a red card was in order, 43 minutes into the game, when Americo Juarbe put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Canas FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CA Peñarol:s goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A collision led to Canas FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Firmo Mariña hit a great ball. The corner led CA Peñarol's Ryan Arnero to fire away a dangerous shot which Jaen Amurrio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 56th minute CA Peñarol were awarded a corner. Ryan Arnero went to the cornerflag to take it. If Bela Garival had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Bela Garival's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaen Amurrio was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 64th minute Bidun Ucieda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaen Amurrio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bidun Ucieda in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jaen Amurrio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Canas FC's Eufrasio Martinez got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Canas FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ryan Arnero was slow to take the kick. During this time CA Peñarol's players had a chance to rest. Jaen Amurrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bela Garival, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bela Garival in the 89th minute of play forced Canas FC's goalkeeper Jaen Amurrio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Bela Garival left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net.
