Spectators: 5012 (Terracing: 4004, Seating: 1004, VIP seats: 4) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rius Castruita made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Mercedes AFC's zone, Zuriko Cañucal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ortle Cernadas came out of the goal and Zuriko Cañucal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mercedes AFC's Ortle Cernadas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Tacon in the 6th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Amarelle. Hipolito Comacho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Sabino Chinchetru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rius Castruita in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sabino Chinchetru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rius Castruita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabino Chinchetru having to interfere. Ortle Cernadas made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Zuriko Cañucal sent off a good shot on target. Zuriko Cañucal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Peñarol's Ronaldinho Tacon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ortle Cernadas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nevada Videgaray's late challenge caught a Mercedes AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nevada Videgaray helped the player get up and apologised. Nevada Videgaray kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Rius Castruita put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sabino Chinchetru. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Garcia Morejon kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Hipolito Comacho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rius Castruita might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sabino Chinchetru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rius Castruita ran back to his position shaking his head. Sabino Chinchetru had great luck who in the 63rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Rius Castruita from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hipolito Comacho got free with Sabino Chinchetru in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mazuste Lamota's late challenge caught a Mercedes AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mazuste Lamota helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Peñarol's Mazuste Lamota got a free kick in the 70th minute. Ortle Cernadas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldinho Tacon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ortle Cernadas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zuriko Cañucal in the 74th minute of play. If Rius Castruita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rius Castruita struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Sabino Chinchetru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mercedes AFC. In the 91st minute, Ronaldinho Tacon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peñarol fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The supporters of Mercedes AFC booed when Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garcia Morejon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mercedes AFC's Herauso Lesaca couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 97th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Peñarol. Mercedes AFC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
