Lascano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Selatse Leguade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yago Artechevezuen during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th minute Selatse Leguade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristides Villavedon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valerio Ocariz struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Berdaitz Charro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penarol. Penarol's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lascano the free kick. The supporters of Lascano booed when Penarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cefero Artieta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lascano's Belarmo Valea got a free kick in the 70th minute. If Jusepe Idigoras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. Penarol's Aristides Villavedon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Penarol from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Lascano had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
