Tabor Vidanes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roger Callergos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. Ubaldo Asturias who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Gasteiz Oger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 21st minute Ubaldo Asturias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gasteiz Oger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 minutes, Breogan Biempica mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarandi FC and the Montevideo City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Domenec Gredilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gasteiz Oger having to interfere. If Tabor Vidanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Argider Eraña hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When Tabor Vidanes came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Sarandi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tabor Vidanes couldn't finish the play. If Jurgi Carbajo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sarandi FC's Breogan Biempica got his second yellow card of the match in the 36th minute. The referee ordered Breogan Biempica off the ground. The supporters of Montevideo City booed when Sarandi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breogan Biempica didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jurgi Carbajo came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Sarandi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jurgi Carbajo couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jurgi Carbajo made the kick off in the second half. 63 minutes into the match, Sarandi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Asturias came free, but Gasteiz Oger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sarandi FC's Jurgi Carbajo has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Asturias in the 71st minute of play forced Sarandi FC's goalkeeper Gasteiz Oger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the game, Jurgi Carbajo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sarandi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montevideo City the free kick. After having played for 76 minutes, Ubaldo Asturias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montevideo City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ubaldo Asturias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roger Callergos was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Jurgi Carbajo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jurgi Carbajo really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Asturias in the 82nd minute of play forced Sarandi FC's goalkeeper Gasteiz Oger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ubaldo Asturias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Gasteiz Oger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Ubaldo Asturias made a precise shot to the right of Gasteiz Oger. Sarandi FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Ubaldo Asturias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
