Mon Santaren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Villalaud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the game, Martxel Servin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mendizabal AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cerro A.C the free kick. If Etxekopar Palafox had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. Mendizabal AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gagriel Escajadillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 85 minutes, Etxekopar Palafox mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cerro A.C and the Mendizabal AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cerro A.C's Etxekopar Palafox got a free kick in the 85th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cerro A.C's zone, Sindo Pineros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magdaleno Elguero came out of the goal and Sindo Pineros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cerro A.C's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
