The ball went over the crossbar instead. 3 minutes into the match, Vazquez's goal looked a bit too open when Aloisio Perucho came free, but Anier Cadanes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute of the match, Severino Cotillos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cordearo Vazquez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a rather tough play, Vazquez's Mauro Covillas got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute, Aloisio Perucho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Severino Cotillos came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Vazquez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Cotillos couldn't finish the play. If Severino Cotillos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Cotillos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Cordearo Vazquez made a huge save. After having played for 22 minutes, Manuelo Chico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mourino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuelo Chico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cordearo Vazquez came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Vazquez's Severino Cotillos. But to his dismay, Severino Cotillos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Aloisio Perucho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Anier Cadanes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anier Cadanes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aloisio Perucho went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Manuelo Chico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anier Cadanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuelo Chico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute Manuelo Chico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Cadanes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guter Viñuela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cordearo Vazquez having to interfere. Severino Cotillos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Severino Cotillos to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Vazquez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Tarabejano to maneuver through the defense. Manuelo Chico struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Anier Cadanes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mourino. The supporters of Mourino booed when Vazquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Tarabejano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mourino's Cordearo Vazquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Cotillos in the 66th minute of play. Aloisio Perucho didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-2 via right post in the game's 69th minute. Mourino's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Anier Cadanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuelo Chico in the 76th minute of play. After having played for 81 minutes, Severino Cotillos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vazquez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Cotillos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guter Viñuela in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cordearo Vazquez saved Mourino from getting behind. 86 minutes into the match, Mourino's goal looked a bit too open when Guter Viñuela came free, but Cordearo Vazquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuelo Chico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Anier Cadanes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mourino walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
