With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flor Cardeños prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thanks to some nice moves Rey Castroviejo could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Flor Cardeños however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of San Eugenio FC booed when Riffo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geronimo Betancia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
