Rioja Sangra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Varas having to interfere. Vicente Bozo got his second yellow card in the match during the 12th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 13th minute, Vicente Bozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 14 played minutes, Tiatocura's Lalla Barrantes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ronaldinho Varas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tiatocura reached it. After having played for 22 minutes, Jabier Viñaspre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Suarez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jabier Viñaspre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ronaldinho Varas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xusto Buerga, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Ronaldinho Varas made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Rioja Sangra sent off a good shot on target. Eguzki Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Suarez's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Varas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rioja Sangra got free with Ronaldinho Varas in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Urtats Torrens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jabier Viñaspre in the 56th minute. When Jabier Viñaspre came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Suarez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jabier Viñaspre couldn't finish the play. Enetz Villaescusa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urtats Torrens having to interfere. Rioja Sangra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Varas having to interfere. After 73 played minutes Tiatocura got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Alfonso. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rioja Sangra in the 76th minute of play forced Suarez's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Varas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xusto Buerga struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Ronaldinho Varas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tiatocura. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Jabier Viñaspre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Suarez's supporters rose to their feet, but Jabier Viñaspre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Urtats Torrens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Enetz Villaescusa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Suarez booed when Tiatocura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fresco Traveso didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Suarez players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tiatocura.
