With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Romero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joey Font scored 0-3 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Romero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vitin Oñate charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vitin Oñate the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Thames United FC got a freekick which was hit by Constantino Panizo. Joey Font recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The PEÑAROL DEPORTIVO FASO players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Thames United FC were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joey Font was the one to do the kick off. Marcelo Romero was a little too slow when Constantino Panizo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-4. When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Thames United FC's Chinto Queto got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Marcelo Romero. After some careless play in the PEÑAROL DEPORTIVO FASO defense, Saturnino Uralde kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Romero. The PEÑAROL DEPORTIVO FASO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Romero should have stopped the shot. In the 67th play minute Rolado Sebastian came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marcelo Romero. 0-7. Saturnino Uralde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Romero having to interfere. Joey Font recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL DEPORTIVO FASO's goalkeeper Marcelo Romero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rolado Sebastian. In the 89th match minute, PEÑAROL DEPORTIVO FASO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitin Oñate to maneuver through the defense. PEÑAROL DEPORTIVO FASO's Marcelo Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joey Font in the 92nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Thames United FC's zone, Yani Bolashikov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lluterio Tarrero came out of the goal and Yani Bolashikov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 97 played minutes Thames United FC got a freekick which was hit by Constantino Panizo. The PEÑAROL DEPORTIVO FASO supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Thames United FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Thames United FC.
