Esteve Baldes might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ambrosio Govelo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Esteve Baldes ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Sebastian Aleson came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Reynold AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Aleson couldn't finish the play. In the 61st minute, Itapeby AFC's Esteve Baldes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ambrosio Govelo. Ambrosio Govelo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. The supporters of Itapeby AFC booed when Reynold AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lia Soterraña didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute Eguntsenti Abad managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Sabino Rigues hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Sebastian Aleson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gabino Irastorza was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. When Tadzio Palafox came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Itapeby AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadzio Palafox couldn't finish the play. Gabino Irastorza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Aleson in the 85th minute of the match. Esteve Baldes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ambrosio Govelo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. After having played for 98 minutes, Esteve Baldes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapeby AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esteve Baldes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Itapeby AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Itapeby AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
