Cordarius Ubidea charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cordarius Ubidea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th minute, Cordarius Ubidea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Burni Marines's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Sedano was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. When Loiola Cubilla fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cerrito AFC's protests and gave Loiola Cubilla a yellow card for diving instead. Renaldo Caloca's late challenge caught a Club Atlético Basáñez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cerrito AFC's players were relieved. 20 minutes into the match, Taurino Zalaeta notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Club Atlético Basáñez's Fabio Sedano. Fabio Sedano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bonadona Vadillos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Selatse Estua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-1 became the score in the 27th minute when Natalio Peñacastillo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Natalio Peñacastillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Selatse Estua having to interfere. Natalio Peñacastillo struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Selatse Estua didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Basáñez. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Natalio Peñacastillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Burni Marines recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 62 minutes, Bonadona Vadillos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético Basáñez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bonadona Vadillos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Taurino Zalaeta did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Fabio Sedano 70 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute of the match Teodor Goicoechea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Selatse Estua showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Club Atlético Basáñez's Bonadona Vadillos in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cerrito AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Bonadona Vadillos struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Selatse Estua didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Basáñez. Selatse Estua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Peñacastillo in the 97th minute of play. The Club Atlético Basáñez supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cerrito AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cerrito AFC.
