Spectators: 8517 (Terracing: 6388, Seating: 1959, VIP seats: 170) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Henrik Löv got the match started through his kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aírton Esteves got free with Candido Gelmiro in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Leo Lainez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wágner Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genco Sufi in the 9th minute of the match. In the 12th minute Temel Ülgener shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Candido Gelmiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloisio Cadena's late challenge caught a Boston River Futbol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aloisio Cadena helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Robert Nesta Marley got a freekick which was hit by Aloisio Cadena. With a little luck, Robert Nesta Marley's Candido Gelmiro got control of the ball when Temel Ülgener tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute Tibo Castermans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Candido Gelmiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Temel Ülgener made a precise shot to the right of Candido Gelmiro. Robert Nesta Marley's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Tibo Castermans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Candido Gelmiro made a huge save. 31 minutes into the match, Robert Nesta Marley's goalkeeper Candido Gelmiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Temel Ülgener. Leo Lainez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Temel Ülgener managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candido Gelmiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute of the match, Tibo Castermans got a very nice opportunity to score, but Candido Gelmiro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Wágner Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrik Löv, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The Robert Nesta Marley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Candido Gelmiro should have stopped the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olivar Rolan to make the kick off.
