After 4 played minutes, Heisen's Oliveiro Casarin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Indalecio Tello came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Heisen reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo de Toledo in the 5th minute of play forced C.A.Canelones1993's goalkeeper Indalecio Tello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heisen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oliveiro Casarin in the 6th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Lain Carne notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Heisen's Onbera Valdes. Onbera Valdes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 12th minute, Lain Carne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raphael Iribarria hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. If Manfredo de Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Lain Carne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oliveiro Casarin kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Resto Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Lain Carne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Canelones1993's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lain Carne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lain Carne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Onbera Valdes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Resto Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camerino Chirino kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Heisen's Manfredo de Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manfredo de Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Indalecio Tello having to interfere. Indalecio Tello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Hermosilla in the 63rd minute of play. Peruanton Icedo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Sixto Daroca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lain Carne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Onbera Valdes made a huge save. Ignacio Hermosilla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Indalecio Tello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Ignacio Hermosilla struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Indalecio Tello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heisen. Lain Carne's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Onbera Valdes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Resto Marquez in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Onbera Valdes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ignacio Hermosilla during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Heisen getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Ignacio Hermosilla hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lain Carne in the 96th minute of play forced Heisen's goalkeeper Onbera Valdes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The C.A.Canelones1993 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing C.A.Canelones1993 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
