The supporters of Sociedad Anónima booed when Arenales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bortzaioriz Palos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Sociedad Anónima's Velasco Rollan. But to his dismay, Velasco Rollan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Velasco Rollan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Pierre-Alexandre von Buol-Schaudenstein made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Marino Malet sent off a good shot on target.
