Jackson Jack made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bidari Saldaña in the 17th minute of play. Mauricio Artacho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ejvind Frøding, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. A collision led to A.C. Zidane getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Bidari Saldaña hit a great ball. In the 26th minute, Americo Tresgallo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauricio Artacho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 30 minutes into the match, A.C. Zidane's goal looked a bit too open when Ejvind Frøding came free, but Mauricio Artacho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Americo Tresgallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Artacho having to interfere. Mauricio Artacho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ejvind Frøding in the 40th minute of the match. If Ejvind Frøding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Pichincha Sporting Club fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Pichincha Sporting Club's Americo Tresgallo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The A.C. Zidane players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pichincha Sporting Club were winning 0-3.

In the 56th match minute, Pichincha Sporting Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rachid Baba Ali Ya Afar to maneuver through the defense. A.C. Zidane's Karl-Erik Vestberg got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A.C. Zidane's Mauricio Artacho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Americo Tresgallo in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Americo Tresgallo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Julian Mijangos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the game, Palben Orta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.C. Zidane's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pichincha Sporting Club the free kick. In the 70th minute, Palben Orta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, A.C. Zidane's Mauricio Artacho got control of the ball when Ejvind Frøding tried to sneak it across the goal line. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Pichincha Sporting Club's Americo Tresgallo in the 72nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Mauricio Artacho was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for A.C. Zidane through an amazing save. Bidari Saldaña hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Mauricio Artacho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ejvind Frøding in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute Javier Dominix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Artacho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of A.C. Zidane booed when Pichincha Sporting Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferrer Motel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Viriato Cavaco came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the A.C. Zidane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viriato Cavaco couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Cavaco in the 83rd minute of play forced Pichincha Sporting Club's goalkeeper Jackson Jack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ejvind Frøding scored 0-4 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mauricio Artacho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gabi Infante hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, Ejvind Frøding fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When the final whistle sounded Pichincha Sporting Club left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than A.C. Zidane.
