Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Donatello Amorim got the match started through his kick off. Marquinhos Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Carlinhos Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faustão Botelho hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Marquinhos Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos Freitas having to interfere. Percy Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Abreu having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Cova SS got a freekick which was hit by Faustão Botelho. After a defensive mix-up in Cova SS's zone, Róbson de Godoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Abreu came out of the goal and Róbson de Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eusébio Abreu made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Percy Salgado sent off a good shot on target. Roger Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Róbson de Godoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cova SS's Eusébio Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Róbson de Godoi in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Roger Salles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cova SS's Eusébio Abreu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cova SS's goalkeeper Eusébio Abreu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rodolfo da Cunha's late challenge caught a Atauba EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo da Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cova SS's Rodolfo da Cunha got a free kick in the 38th minute. Adolfo Messias hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Percy Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Abreu having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Róbson de Godoi made the kick off in the second half. Róbson de Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusébio Abreu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cova SS's Wilton da Rocha got a free kick in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson de Godoi in the 63rd minute of play forced Cova SS's goalkeeper Eusébio Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donatello Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlinhos Freitas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donatello Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. Cova SS's Donatello Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute Percy Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, Percy Salgado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 84 minutes, Percy Salgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atauba EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percy Salgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 85 played minutes Cova SS got a freekick which was hit by Eliseu Baptista. The Atauba EC fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Atauba EC's Róbson de Godoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Adalberto Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, one of Cova SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cova SS. Atauba EC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cova SS for a fine match.
