Abelardo Hoffmann had several of the Indianópolense's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 21 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Leonardo Paraibano as he didn't even see the shot coming. Leonardo Paraibano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abelardo Hoffmann in the 24th minute. If Edson Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Tiago Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Indianópolense's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hudson Chaves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edson Domingues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
