The tension between the Cachimbo EC and the EC ITAPEMA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 39 played minutes Cachimbo EC got a freekick which was hit by Igor Loyola. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charles Rezende to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Rafael Sabóia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the game, Marcus Breckenfeld cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jean Munhoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elder Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Rezende in the 59th minute of play. Kaká Simão hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Túlio Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Cachimbo EC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Breckenfeld came free, but Jean Munhoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 played minutes Charles Rezende rounded EC ITAPEMA's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. EC ITAPEMA's Ivo de Almeida was substituted for Erasmo Zilles. After a defensive mix-up in EC ITAPEMA's zone, Júlio Valladares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elder Quadros came out of the goal and Júlio Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elder Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charles Rezende in the 89th minute of play. Zé Pedro de Sena hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute Charles Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elder Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cachimbo EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cachimbo EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
