Américo de Souza started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, ATL Betaort's Didi Mendonça sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilson Palmeira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, ATL Betaort's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardinho Guimarães came free, but Elder Alagoano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th play minute Didi Mendonça came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gilson Palmeira. 1-0. Américo de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Alagoano having to interfere. ATL Betaort's Didi Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elder Alagoano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardinho Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardinho Guimarães in the 22nd minute of play forced ATL Betaort's goalkeeper Elder Alagoano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Didi Mendonça couldn't finish the play. The supporters of ATL Betaort booed when Garajuva SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Emerson de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. ATL Betaort's supporters rose to their feet, but Emerson de Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilson Palmeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Didi Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Garajuva SS's zone, Didi Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilson Palmeira came out of the goal and Didi Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Didi Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Gilson Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Didi Mendonça to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Garajuva SS's Sílvio Soares got a free kick in the 68th minute. If Didi Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Didi Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Gilson Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee showed Sílvio Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Garajuva SS's Sílvio Soares got a free kick in the 91st minute.
