When Eurico Duarte fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Central FC's protests and gave Eurico Duarte a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Florinea EC booed when Central FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Central FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Keller came free, but Cássio de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cássio de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silas Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruben Keller struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Cássio de Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Florinea EC. Dráuzio Teles made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Iuri Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. When Silas Bueno came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Florinea EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silas Bueno couldn't finish the play. Silas Bueno took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cássio de Mendonça. Cássio de Mendonça dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 38th minute Silas Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dráuzio Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Gaúcho in the 40th minute of play. Rubinho Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.
