Filipson's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Agenor Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Erik da Mata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Filipson. In the 15th minute, Dantas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Agenor Ribeiro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Erik da Mata came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Filipson's Luís Eduardo Mattos. But to his dismay, Luís Eduardo Mattos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 24th play minute Luís Eduardo Mattos came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Erik da Mata. 2-0. In the 34th match minute, Dantas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horácio Luz to maneuver through the defense. Luís Eduardo Mattos had several of the Dantas's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 41 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Erik da Mata as he didn't even see the shot coming. Agenor Ribeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erik da Mata. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agenor Ribeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dito Lago made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Agenor Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Filipson's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agenor Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61stth minute of the game Luís Eduardo Mattos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dantas's Erik da Mata was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Agenor Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute of the match Filipson got a corner. Dantas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredinho Reis ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Filipson getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ciro Paes hit a great ball. Dantas's Erik da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agenor Ribeiro in the 77th minute of play. The supporters of Filipson booed when Dantas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto de Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agenor Ribeiro in the 86th minute of play forced Dantas's goalkeeper Erik da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 92 minutes, Agenor Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
