Patis's Renato Motta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Patis from getting a goal against them. In the 5th minute Sidney Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A long shot from Marcelo Mazza in the 7th minute of play was well struck, but Renato Motta made a really good save at the right post. The supporters of Calcoene SS booed when Patis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 9 in the game by Geraldo Pereira from a close distance when the talented Renato Motta managed to make a qualified save. Patis's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidney Peres in the 12th minute of play forced Patis's goalkeeper Renato Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo Coutinho in the 21st minute of play forced Calcoene SS's goalkeeper Allan Severo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geraldo Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Beto Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Patis's protests and gave Beto Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. Geraldo Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidney Peres in the 38th minute of play forced Patis's goalkeeper Renato Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Calcoene SS's Sidney Peres dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. If Sidney Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sidney Peres to make the kick off. When Geraldo Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Calcoene SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo Pereira couldn't finish the play. Renato Motta came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Calcoene SS's Sidney Peres. But to his dismay, Sidney Peres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Geraldo Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sidney Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Renato Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Oséias Tróia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 71 minutes, Marcelo Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calcoene SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelo Mazza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sidney Peres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renato Motta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Calcoene SS getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Zé Paulo de Brito hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Calcoene SS's zone, Naldo Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan Severo came out of the goal and Naldo Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Naldo Coutinho struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Allan Severo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patis. In the 87th minute Geraldo Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88thth minute of the game Sidney Peres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Patis's Renato Motta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Sidney Peres had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renato Motta. Patis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sidney Peres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Calcoene SS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
