Raphael Eger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 22nd minute, Andre-Yann Shevchenko ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ernani Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durval Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. AC Milan's Andre-Yann Shevchenko got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre-Yann Shevchenko in the 32nd minute of play forced Bacre SC's goalkeeper Raphael Eger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Babbis Kapareliotis got a free kick in the 34th minute. Ernani Pitta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tarcisio de Barros in the 39th minute. Durval Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Pitta having to interfere. Durval Schmidt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernani Pitta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Ernani Pitta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tarcisio de Barros in the 43rd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andre-Yann Shevchenko to make the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raphael Eger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernani Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Schmidt in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Bacre SC's goal looked a bit too open when Andre-Yann Shevchenko came free, but Raphael Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AC Milan's Ernani Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval Schmidt in the 87th minute of play. Walmir Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Andre-Yann Shevchenko managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Milan's supporters rose to their feet, but Andre-Yann Shevchenko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raphael Eger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 2-6 became the score in the 95th minute when Durval Schmidt elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded AC Milan left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bacre SC.
