Claudinei Velloso helped the player get up and apologised. fcbarcelona's Ivo Lago was substituted for Raí Salgado. fcbarcelona's Guilherme Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cléberson Donato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Velloso in the 12th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Guilherme Baiano put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jacinto de Medeiros. After 16 played minutes fcbarcelona got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Mattos. Egídio Mattos kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Guilherme Baiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacinto de Medeiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guilherme Baiano ran back to his position shaking his head. When Amílton Bertassi fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Encarnacao SC's protests and gave Amílton Bertassi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Encarnacao SC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Amílton Bertassi hit a great ball. Encarnacao SC's Jacinto de Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guilherme Baiano in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guilherme Baiano was the one to do the kick off. If Guilherme Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 2-1 became the score in the 55th minute when Guilherme Baiano elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jacinto de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guilherme Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Conrado Faria struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Jacinto de Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for fcbarcelona. Cléberson Donato made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Adrianinho do Valle sent off a good shot on target. Jacinto de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guilherme Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 73 played minutes Encarnacao SC got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Velloso. After a defensive mix-up in Encarnacao SC's zone, Guilherme Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto de Medeiros came out of the goal and Guilherme Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Egídio Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacinto de Medeiros having to interfere. Jacinto de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Baiano in the 80th minute of play. Guilherme Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. fcbarcelona's Guilherme Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacinto de Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guilherme Baiano's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. After a rather tough play, Encarnacao SC's Adrianinho do Valle got a free kick in the 96th minute.
