In the 17th minute Gugu Linares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremias Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 24 minutes of play Umburana's Chiquinho Corrêa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Gaúcho F.C. booed when Umburana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiquinho Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cléber Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Gaúcho having to interfere. João Paulo Macedo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Samuca Gaúcho having to make a save. Cléber Loyola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuca Gaúcho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. If Cléber Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gugu Linares during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 35th minute, Gugu Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Umburana's Cléber Loyola got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Luiz Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Gaúcho having to interfere. Samuca Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Paulo Macedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Cléber Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Gaúcho having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cléber Loyola to make the kick off. Samuca Gaúcho was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Cléber Loyola capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cléber Loyola really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Gaúcho F.C.'s zone, Cléber Loyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuca Gaúcho came out of the goal and Cléber Loyola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cléber Loyola succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 96th playminute. When the final whistle sounded Umburana left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Gaúcho F.C..
