Spectators: 7183 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 53) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Tadeu Peres made the kick off which started today's match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agnaldo Macedo during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd minute, one of Caiambe:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caiambe. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilton de Brito in the 10th minute of play forced Caiambe's goalkeeper Sydney Albuquerque to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caiambe's goalkeeper Sydney Albuquerque, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Nilton de Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Paulo Travassos notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Caiambe's Sydney Albuquerque. Sydney Albuquerque was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sydney Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 23 minutes of play, Fluminense's Nilton de Brito made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sydney Albuquerque was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sydney Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Travassos in the 28th minute of the match. In the 34thth minute of the game Nilton de Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caiambe's Sydney Albuquerque was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Percy Mazza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juvenal Andrade went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Nilton de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sydney Albuquerque came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Fluminense's Nilton de Brito. But to his dismay, Nilton de Brito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Travassos made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Doni Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fluminense's Nilton de Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Fluminense's Hernani Vander got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 61st match minute, Caiambe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Andrade to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Fluminense's Sydney Albuquerque threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nilton de Brito, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nilton de Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Sydney Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 minutes of play, Fluminense's Paulo Travassos made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sydney Albuquerque was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caiambe's goalkeeper Sydney Albuquerque, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Caiambe's Sydney Albuquerque played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilton de Brito in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Fluminense's goal looked a bit too open when Juvenal Andrade came free, but Percy Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Nilton de Brito kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sydney Albuquerque. That made the score 1-6 in the 83 minute of play. Paulo Travassos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sydney Albuquerque having to make a save. Sydney Albuquerque was a little too slow when Nilton de Brito got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 1-7. Paulo Travassos kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute. Though ot was a great shot Caiambe's keeper Sydney Albuquerque was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Percy Mazza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juvenal Andrade went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-7 was the resulting score.
