Cabo Frio FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruy Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugênio Rossi scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felipe Luz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cabo Frio FC's Felipe Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renan Vianna in the 19th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Beniamin Cisek got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Felipe Luz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcelo Tavares during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cabo Frio FC booed when ẞḁẏ€ṝ₦ Ṁῦ₦ïǬǘ€ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovanni Severo in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eli Grodorf prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 28 minutes into the match, Alfredo Favoretto notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Cabo Frio FC's Felipe Luz. Felipe Luz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Felipe Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Vianna in the 32nd minute of play. Felipe Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Favoretto in the 37th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Cabo Frio FC defense, Renan Vianna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Felipe Luz. The Cabo Frio FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Felipe Luz should have stopped the shot. Cabo Frio FC's attentive Cláudio Breckenfeld managed to snatch the ball when Beniamin Cisek made a throw-in in the 43rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, ẞḁẏ€ṝ₦ Ṁῦ₦ïǬǘ€'s Alfredo Favoretto got a free kick in the 44th minute. Cabo Frio FC's Felipe Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Vianna in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Geovanni Severo made the kick off in the second half. Franklin Pernambucano hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Hílton Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eli Grodorf having to interfere. Renan Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Renan Vianna charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Renan Vianna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th minute of the game Daniel Ramalho made a throw-in which Alfredo Favoretto played forward. 66 minutes into the match, Cabo Frio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Vianna came free, but Felipe Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renan Vianna struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Felipe Luz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ẞḁẏ€ṝ₦ Ṁῦ₦ïǬǘ€. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato Vianna got free with Felipe Luz in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 71st minute, Renato Vianna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Beniamin Cisek made in the 73rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Durval Neiva immediately put the ball in play. Renato Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Cabo Frio FC's Felipe Luz got control of the ball when Renato Vianna tried to sneak it across the goal line. The ẞḁẏ€ṝ₦ Ṁῦ₦ïǬǘ€ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ẞḁẏ€ṝ₦ Ṁῦ₦ïǬǘ€ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
