The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Morere EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ipu:s goal. Tião Brito had in the 26thth minute some difficulties stopping Cristian Lucas's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 39 minutes, Wilton Guimarães made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Morere EC's Tião Brito tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. João Augusto Sabóia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Baptista in the 44th minute of play. Aloísio Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. João Augusto Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
