But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Paulo dos Santos couldn't finish the play. 35 minutes into the game, Fellipe Meira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Porto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villplate the free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faustão Reis in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willian Peixoto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Faustão Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. FC Porto's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
